Spring is here and mothers day, Sunday May 11th is fast approaching, so why not start that day by spending some time helping out at the Susan G Komen annual Race for the Cure. GLENDA has been a strong supporter for the past several years at this event that benefits the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Once again we will be setting up the water tent for distribution at the end of the race.
We need to unload the truck with water and some other soft drinks as well as bananas, and then at the conclusion of the race we will distribute these items to the masses. We have a lot of product on the truck to unload so we have an early start time of 6:00 AM. in Schenley park on Flagstaff hill.
Having as many volunteers for the start time will make a Hugh difference but if you would like to help and just can't get out by 6:00 don't let that stop you, it will take some time to get everything off the truck & distributed. Think back just a few months when we had more volunteers then we needed and we had to tell some of you we were full and didn't need any more help. Well that won't happen this time, we need you all.
