GLENDA needs your donation.

While many charities have elaborate fundraising programs and bring in large amounts of money on a regular basis, GLENDA is different. GLENDA's chief asset is the time and goodwill of volunteers like you. We invest your time, effort, and goodwill to create a positive impact on the community. Turn Time Effort Goodwill into Community Understanding Diversity By increasing understanding and appreciation of diversity, your investment helps to make Western Pennsylvania a better place to live.

GLENDA's focus on time, effort and goodwill means that our twin sources of fundraising are critically important. GLENDA usually earns a portion of its budget through the Dining for Diversity extravaganza each September. For the remainder of our operating costs, GLENDA relies on your generous donations.

All of GLENDA's Volunteers, Coordinators, Committee Members, Directors, and Officers are unpaid volunteers. Instead of paying salaries, your donations pay for:

  • Volunteer appreciation, like food and drinks that are provided free of charge to our volunteers at events
  • Advertising, so that we can reach out to new volunteers
  • Support for allied charities
  • GLENDA's overhead, including office space, phone service, banking
  • This website
