Our History
GLENDA began informally in December 1993 as a grassroots organization, providing openly gay men and lesbians an opportunity to volunteer for community service projects in the greater Pittsburgh area. GLENDA hopes this interaction will foster understanding and acceptance of gay men and lesbians among all people.
Although the organization has its beginnings in Pittsburgh's East end, GLENDA volunteers live thoughout the greater Pittsburgh area. GLENDA always welcomes new volunteers who are interested in making a difference in people's lives. There is no membership fee or requirements other than to participate in whatever events might be of interest.
